A rove punch is an essential tool for creating traditional copper rivets. Rivets are made up of a copper nail and a copper rove, or dished washer.
The rove is hammered over the nail using the punch, which has a deep hole to accept the nail.
I have modeled this based off of a set made by my instructor while I attended the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding.
This tool is made from 1 1/2" shock-resistant S7 tool steel stock, on a manual metal lathe. It has been hardened and tempered to resist dents, dings, and improve the life of the tool.
