Rove Diameter

I'm gone for the summer, check back in August!

Are you bending a lot of copper nails while trying to rivet? Sometimes the stock hole in a copper rove is just a **little** too tight to drive the nail through, especially for beginners.

I have used this 3D printed jig to tightly clamp together a stack of roves so that they can be drilled out a little bit larger. Simply stack the roves inside, screw the cap on and send through the desired drill.

Some experimenting is necessary to find the drill that yields a snug but not too snug fit. A set of #1-#60 tapping drills comes in handy.

Being plastic, these will wear out somewhat quickly, but students of mine have used a pair to successfully drill out several hundred roves. Care must be taken to screw the cap on just tight enough to clamp the roves, but not so tight you break them out the bottom of the jig. If the drill won't move through the stack, it's usually because one of the roves is spinning and they need clamped tighter.

Select the rove size you are using from the dropdown. A specific diameter of rove and height of stack can also be entered in the customization notes.

Includes 2 plastic drilling jigs only, roves and drill bit not included.
